Use HortOS from your AI assistant
If you already work in Claude or ChatGPT, you do not need to leave it. Add HortOS once and ask it to price a planting schedule: every line comes back matched to a wholesale grower, a pot size and a trade price from the growers' own live stock lists, with a link that opens the priced list ready to send. Free, and no key to set up.
Add it to your assistant
In Claude: Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, then paste this address. Other assistants that support connectors (the Model Context Protocol) take the same address.
https://uk.hortosapp.com/mcp
Then ask in plain words, for example:
Price this plant list on HortOS for a job in Guildford GU1: 300 x Lomandra longifolia 'Tanika' 140mm 8 x Gaura lindheimeri 'Whirling Butterflies' 200mm 2 x Magnolia grandiflora 'Little Gem' 100L
What it can do
- Search plants. Who grows a plant, in which pot sizes, and from what trade price.
- Price a whole list. Paste or describe a schedule; each line is matched to a grower near the job, with other growers and close substitutes where a line is not listed.
What it never does
- It never places an order. You get a link to the priced list. You open it, check the lines and press send. Each grower then confirms stock and freight with you.
- It shows nothing the site does not. Grower names, public pages and listed prices. Phone numbers and emails stay behind the trade sign-in.
- It contacts no grower. Nothing reaches a grower until you send your list.
For your own software
The same two things are plain web endpoints, no key needed. Prices are GBP, ex VAT. Please keep it to what a person would ask for; heavy use is slowed down.

curl -X POST https://uk.hortosapp.com/api/v1/quote -H "content-type: application/json" -d '{"list":"300 x Lomandra longifolia 'Tanika' 140mm\n8 x Gaura lindheimeri 'Whirling Butterflies' 200mm\n2 x Magnolia grandiflora 'Little Gem' 100L","near":"Guildford GU1"}'The answer carries quote_url (the priced list to open and send) and one entry per line with the grower, size, price, other growers and substitutes.
Both endpoints are described for tools in an OpenAPI file: https://uk.hortosapp.com/api/v1/openapi.json.
